TransCanada Pipelines Ltd.:

• TransCanada Pipelines’ 2010 Award of Excellence for Outstanding Safety Performance on pipeline facilities and pump stations.
• TransCanada Pipelines’ 2009 Keystone Pipeline Vice President’s Award for outstanding safety performance. Michels was honored by TransCanada at its annual Keystone Safety Summit. 
• TransCanada Pipeline’s 2008 Outstanding Safety Performance. Michels was honored by TransCanada at its annual Keystone Safety Summit.
• Michels received the highest score achieved by a contractor on the Keystone Pipeline project’s Construction Safety Management Program audit in 2009 and again on two separate projects in 2010, with the highest score being 99%.

Enbridge:

• 2010 – Michels was honored to receive two Spread Safety awards for the safest construction spreads on the Alberta Clipper Project.

ConocoPhillips:

• Michels received the ConocoPhillips Target Zero Award in 2011.
• Michels was honored to receive the ConocoPhillips Project Development Pipeline Construction Safety Award for Best Overall Safety Performance on US Pipeline Construction Projects in 2009.

Pipeline Contractors Association (PLCA) Safety Awards:

• 2009 – Michels received 10 awards for best accident frequency rate of Superintendents for projects in excess of 150,000 man hours.
• 2008 – Received 2 awards for best accident frequency rate of Superintendents for projects in excess of 150,000 man hours.
• 2007 – Received 3 awards for best accident frequency rate of Superintendents for projects in excess of 150,000 man hours.
