Quarry Quest is an exciting day of family fun. Kids–young and old–ride on giant haul trucks and participate in over 20 hands-on activities designed to teach them about geology, mining and construction operations. Past activities have included: hunting for real fossils, “prospecting” for fool’s gold, mixing up a batch of concrete “cake” or laying bricks with trained masons. Youngsters can burn off a little energy while hiking up “Stockpile Mountain” or taking on the challenge of attempting to climb “The Rock.”

Quarry Quest is an annual fall event held at Michels Materials’ Neenah Quarry. Led by Michels, Miron Construction, FABCO Equipment and Local 139, in collaboration with a team of community-minded organizations, Quarry Quest was created in 1999 to help provide a better understanding of Wisconsin’s rich heritage in the aggregate and construction industry while also raising needed funding for local children’s charitable organizations.

It is because of over 250 businesses and nearly 1,000 volunteers that Quarry Quest is made possible. Thank you!

Education and fun are the by-products of Quarry Quest. All the money raised through Quarry Quest is donated to local charities, such as: Weis Earth Science Museum, Boy Scouts of America and the Quarry Quest Environmental Field Trip Fund. For most young children, Quarry Quest is an experience of a lifetime! Most visitors say that Quarry Quest is “the best family outing they’ve ever attended!”
