Twas the night before Christmas: Crew responds to emergency request
Instead of hunkering down for a long holiday weekend, a Michels crew spent Christmas eve and Christmas day completing an emergency repair to ensure public safety in a Nebraska town.
Just after 4 p.m. on Dec. 24, a customer requested our assistance with a pipeline emergency. In less than an hour, two superintendents were en route to the scene to assess the situation as the customer isolated the section of pipeline and stopped the flow of gas.
By early Christmas morning, the rest of the crew arrived and got to work removing the damaged section and replacing it with a new one. The repair was completed that same day. Before they left, the crew also excavated a parallel pipeline to make sure it was in safe operating condition. After it was found to be undamaged, the excavations were restored and the crew headed home.
Thank you to our dedicated and dependable crews, who mobilize on a moment’s notice whenever needed.
