Cyclist benefits from Michels' vigilance
Being on constant alert for hazards and unexpected events is one way we ensure the safety of our co-workers, the public and ourselves.
John McKinley, a Michels Power foreman in the Northwest region, was heading to a jobsite on a recent morning when traffic came to an abrupt stop. A motorcyclist ahead of John laid down his motorcycle while attempting to avoid rear-ending the vehicle in front of him.
John reacted quickly, positioning his crew truck close to the rider and turning on his flashers and beacon light. After protecting the rider and warning others to drive with caution, John helped administer assistance and stayed on the scene until the authorities arrived. The rider was shaken, but not seriously injured.
