Jerry Eilbes and Bob Westphal
Eilbes, Westphal surpass 50 years at Michels
Congratulations to Jerry Eilbes and Bob Westphal, Michels Corporation’s longest-standing employees. Both were honored by the Michels family and senior managers Saturday for being with Michels for more than 50 years.
Jerry was the first person hired by Dale Michels to work at his fledgling pipeline construction company 56 years ago. When Dale was injured soon thereafter, Jerry rallied the crew to continue working. Once Dale returned, the two worked side by side to solidify Michels’ reputation for quality and to expand its services.
Jerry has played many roles and seen many changes at Michels. His legendary work ethic and can-do attitude have remained constants over the decades.
Bob was a hard-working, driven laborer when Dale hired him 50 years ago. Bob’s desire to improve himself, Michels and the industry were quickly recognized.
Over the years, Bob has pioneered new technologies, led many divisions and amassed abundant experience, which he generously shares with his colleagues. Known as a leader in the trenchless and pipeline construction industries, Bob has worked tirelessly to establish Michels as an elite contractor.
“My family and I are very fortunate to know and work with these two great men,” said Pat Michels, President. “Their contributions have been monumental. I can’t imagine what the business would be like without them.”
