From dozers to drones
Michels career options run gamut
Interested in controlling robots and flying drones? A career in construction could be in your future.
Michels shared insight into our work and equipment with more than 2,300 local middle school students during the three-day Career Connections Academy at Moraine Park Technical College in Fond du Lac. Students got up-close looks at backhoes, dozers and drones, and learned how each is integral to modern infrastructure construction. In short, many Michels careers have shifted focus from manual labor to machinery, technology and robotics, and are open to high school and technical school graduates.
“Many people think they know what it means to work in construction,” said an operations manager in Michels Highway group, “but then they learn about opportunities at Michels and how we are using technology to rebuild the nation’s infrastructure. It can be very eye-opening.”
