Get ready to dig Quarry Quest
Popular event returns to Neenah on Sept. 12
Preparations are underway for the 17th annual Quarry Quest on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Michels Materials Quarry in Neenah.
Join us for a fun day that will appeal to kids and adults. Quarry Quest is a unique opportunity for kids to explore a working quarry and ride in construction equipment and to participate in more than 30 fun, educational, hands-on activities.
Popular children’s activities like Bricklaying 101 and Junior Fossil Find will be back this year, and new ones have been added, too. Take a Hike teaches kids how to use compasses and maps for navigation and Story in the Quarry is a chance to relax in the shade while listening to stories about rocks and geology.
The Career Exploration Area will be back for adults who want to learn more about great opportunities available at Michels and Quarry Quest’s three other major sponsors.
Advance tickets cost $7 for anyone 13 and older and $5 for children ages 3 to 12. Children 2 and under are free. Tickets at the gate cost $10 for those who are 13 and older and $8 for children ages 3 to 12.
All money raised at Quarry Quest benefits local children’s charities and the Quarry Quest Environmental Education Fund. Quarry Quest has raised $1.3 million in the last 16 years.
Quarry Quest is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the quarry, 700 Tullar Road. Free parking and shuttles are available. For more information and ticket locations, visit www.quarryquest.com.
