What's New at Michels

Hitting the road to a successful career

Are you willing to work throughout the United States?

I ask that same question every day to perspective employees, and I never get the same answer. Some say absolutely not; others say their bags are packed and they can leave tomorrow!

Construction is a great field. There are abundant opportunities to work and to expand your skill set. It is a career that allows you to support yourself as well as your family, and to be a part of the team that is making a difference.

Many jobs in construction require travel and being away from home for extended periods of time. Being willing to give it a try can lead you to a great opportunity, a great career, a chance to meet new people and a chance to learn how projects are completed in other parts of the country.

Keep an open mind

Flexibility and open-mindedness are keys to success in construction, particularly with a national contractor like Michels. There probably won’t be a lot of projects within 30 minutes of your home so be prepared to work in many areas and states. There will be times when you are assigned to just one project for a season; other times you may be working on 20 different ones. It all depends on the size of the project and of your skill set. Your ability to quickly adapt to new situations will definitely impact your happiness and success!

Endless opportunities

I have met many people who want to work at Michels, but aren’t sure about the travel. My advice? Meet with our managers. Learn about the opportunities. Consider stepping out of your comfort zone and into a career that offers chances for advancement.

Pack your bags and come with us for your next adventure!
