Michels backs Salvation Army Bucket Brigade on Dec. 1
Michels Corporation is doubling the impact of donations to the Fond du Lac Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign on Friday, Dec. 1 by matching the first $8,000.
The Salvation Army Red Kettle and its $160,000 goal will benefit from a community donation drive from 6 to 11:30 a.m. KFIZ and 107.1 The Bull will spearhead the collection. This year, the Bucket Brigade will meet morning commuters on both the north and south ends of Fond du Lac. The 17th annual Bucket Brigade will collect at its traditional location, 254 Winnebago Drive, as well as in The Shops at Cobblestone Square, 770 S. Main St. The Salvation Army’s iconic king-sized Red Kettle will mark this year’s new location.
“Creating this additional collection point adds another level of donation convenience, and we’re looking forward to sharing smiles and welcoming goodhearted donors at both locations this year,” said Captain Steven Wilson of The Salvation Army of Fond du Lac.
Michels volunteers will extend hands-on support, volunteering as Bucket Brigade members at the new location in the morning and ringing at three Red Kettle locations throughout the day. The Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue Local 400 will lead the Bucket Brigade teams at both locations. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive at 7 a.m.; Sparky will be on hand from 9 to 10 am, and 107.1 The Bull’s mascot Banjo will also make an appearance. Also invited are representatives from the Miss Fond du Lac Pageant and VFW Bohlman-Grimes Post 1904.
Last year, the Bucket Brigade featured an $8,000 Michels Corporation match and raised a record $17,162.
