Michels remains nation's top pipeline contractor
Michels Corporation has once again been recognized as the largest pipeline contractor in the United States by Engineering News-Record’s yearly ranking of the utility construction industry’s major players.
Michels Corporation was founded in 1959 by Dale Michels as a small contractor that specialized in natural gas distribution construction.
“It’s an honor to be ranked among the strongest contractors in the nation, and we are very proud to receive this top ranking in consecutive years,” said Pat Michels, president of Michels Corporation. “This achievement is due to the dedication and efforts of our world-class leadership team and crew members.”
In 2013, Michels was also ranked as the largest pipeline contractor in the U.S.
Michels was also named the No. 2 contractor in construction of electrical transmission and distribution plants and No. 4 in sanitary and storm sewer construction. Michels was also ranked among the nation’s leaders in sewerage and solid waste construction; petroleum construction, and power construction in Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) September issue.
“We are proud to be recognized for our success at partnering with our customers from coast to coast on safe, dependable new construction and maintenance projects,” said Mark Harasha, Senior Vice President, Michels Power.
Michels received a No. 24 ranking on the Top 400 Contractors list in May.
ENR is a U.S.-based trade publication for the engineering and construction industry that ranks the world’s top contractors every year according to their revenue.
