Taking time to ensure safety
Michels Pipeline Construction foreman Wendell drives by many fields and open land on his way to a jobsite in Colorado each morning. One particular day, he noticed something unusual – a small fire in the grass next to a power pole. He pulled over, checked to make sure there were no downed lines, and stomped out the fire. Next, he used his fire extinguisher to make sure the blaze wouldn’t reignite and spread across the fields of dry grass to a nearby house.
Whether on a jobsite or in the community, it’s worth a few minutes to take proactive action and avoid potentially harmful repercussions, Wendell said.
