The HDD Project Engineer will work on-site in a rural, remote project location alongside the Construction Manager and serve as a general team member associated with project support. This position shall assist in coordinating activities of designated project(s) to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame. It is essential to demonstrate an understanding of how the business runs, how changing circumstances are handled and who to contact when there are questions. Critical for success are strong communication skills and the ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The anticipated salary range is $100,000 – $120,000 annually. This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current market data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual’s skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

- Understand the terms and scope of the contract and specifications as it applies to the project and assist with contract management. Coordinate activities needed to support and administer all phases of construction contracts and project controls through close-out.
- Attend construction related meetings to support project related functions. (Safety, planning and weekly meetings).
- In coordination with project leadership, coordinate and document activities of the project to ensure project progresses on schedule.
- Assist the Project Team with planning and delivery of plant, drilling equipment, downhole tooling, materials, spares and personnel required for each project.
- Assist in developing, implementing and tracking work plans and checklists, ensuring productivity and regulatory compliance.
- Assist the Project Team with the preparation of technical documents, designs, drawings for projects.
- Monitor and report on technical performance, provide project support, assist with problem solving/issue resolution on technical matters.
- Maintain open communication with divisional leadership and project leadership to ensure coordination of project needs.
- Prepare reports for project and/or clients as requested by management.
- Track material, production and minor project costs. Report on operations to optimize production and minimize costs. Provide requested documentation to Construction Manager.
- Help facilitate subcontractor activities under direct supervision.
- Proactively build and sustain relationships with clients, customer representatives and general/sub-contractors.
- Other duties as assigned.
What it takes:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field, 0-3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Australian Construction Induction Card.
- Knowledge and/or experience with project management software.
- Knowledge and/or experience with design software (CAD, MicroStation, etc.)
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
