Michels Canada is looking for a Pipe Layer to support our Pipe Services operations and conduct full and partial replacements, tie ins and and routine maintenance as required. 

In this role, you will work with the superintendent to complete full and partial replacements and tie ins to live sewer lines. This position requires you to maintain a positive and professional attitude, while upholding our commitment to safety at all times. This position is based in the Peel Region of Toronto, ON. 


  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers. Follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. 
  • Install PVC, concrete, HDPE piping material as well as installation of manholes, catch basins, etc.  
  • Ensure that pipe is “on Grade” and installed to city specifications.
  • Install and repair sanitary or storm water sewer structures or pipe in live sewers. 
  • Grade or level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools.
  • Analyze and repair mechanical failures.
  • Ensure that all installed materials are properly bedded
  • Other duties as needed.


  • 5-10 years experience as a pipe layer working in live sewer lines. 
  • Must be able to work in manholes and narrow confined spaces for duration of shift  
  • Must be able to work outside year round in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to regularly life and/or move 50 pounds and frequently life and/or move up to 55 pounds
  • Must have strong organization and communication skills.
  • Must possess a friendly attitude with a team player mindset.
  • Must demonstrate personal value commitment to safety


  • Journeyperson trade certificate in relevant field such as Millwright, Heavy Duty Mechanic or other related discipline.


  • Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English.
