The Quality (QA/QC) Representative, utilizing the provided training, tools, and techniques, is responsible for assisting operations with implementation and compliance of existing quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) programs. This position conducts jobsite and facility visitations, inspections and, assessments to ensure adherence to quality expectations in accordance with project specifications and industry standards. Critical for success is the ability to work independently and strong attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment. Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety and environmental policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. Conduct and support QA/QC orientations, progress update meetings and related QA/QC trainings. Perform audits identify areas of concern and take appropriate corrective actions independently. Document all findings and take all appropriate corrective action. Obtain, and maintain appropriate education and credentialing. Understand and apply appropriate industry specific standards. Establish working relationship with Michels Construction, Inc. project team (i.e., Project Manager, Foreman, General Foreman, Superintendent), customers, vendors, and regulatory authorities. Develop site quality control standards and be proactive with analyzing potential quality deficiencies. Use discretion and independent judgment on the job sites. Holds the authority and responsibility of maintaining the safety of the crew at all times. This role has the authority to make decisions based off of the current working conditions that could impact the operating practices of the jobsite and override the management’s authority in order to maintain power system integrity and adhere to safety standards and practices. What it takes?
- 5+ years of construction experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven, and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team
Desired Qualifications:
- QA/QC Certification in ISO or the American Society for Quality
- Other related quality experience and/or certifications
- 3+ years of Industry experience and training
- Ability to travel extensively
