Anomaly Investigation and Repair

Michels Pipeline uses information gathered by sophisticated inline tools to locate and carefully expose specific sections of pipe where possible defects have been identified. Michels then works with customers to determine a sound corrective step, and make necessary repairs or replacements. Our crews use sheeting and dewatering equipment when conditions require for safe, efficient work in an open trench.

Sleeve Installation

Michels uses composite and welded sleeves to repair external damage or dents on a pipeline when a customer determines sleeves to be appropriate. When installed by our experienced crews, composite (fiber) and welded (steel) sleeves restore a pipeline to its original design specification.

Pipe Integrity

Michels Pipeline uses a variety of proven techniques to extend a pipeline’s lifespan and keep pace with changing and developing world above the trench. Our services include recoats, cutouts and class changes. Whenever possible, we work with customers to implement mitigative and preventive measures rather than taking action after an issue has been detected.

Line Lowering

When topsoil erodes or road construction or development above a buried pipeline infringes on cover requirements, Michels Pipeline brings the utility line back in compliance. From excavating and supporting the existing pipeline and tying in a lowered section to fabricating and installing new values and restoring the area to preconstruction conditions, Michels works quickly and efficiently to restore full operations.

Hydrostatic Testing

Hydrostatic testing is one of many preventative safety measures used to ensure the integrity and shipping capacity of new and existing pipelines. Michels Pipeline uses gauges and dyed water to fill a section of pipeline to a desired pressure level and hold it for a predetermined period of time. If any water is released, the location is isolated, repaired, and retested. After the test is complete, the water is collected and disposed in an environmentally sound way.
