A Michels Road & Stone dump truck pours aggregate to be used by paving machine on a highway.

I-39 (CTB AB to US 12/18)

To reconstruct and add lanes to 2.1 miles of northbound and southbound I-39 from CTH AB to USH 12/18 Interchange, Michels Road & Stone, Inc. built 10-inch temporary concrete pavement in the median between the existing lanes and then paved 12.5-inch concrete driving lines. Paving included three driving lanes and inside and outside shoulders.
Michels utilized stringless automated machine guidance systems to ensure accuracy. Temporary concrete was constructed at night using high early strength concrete. Crews took steps to perform high quality work in spite of the significant challenge of paving concrete in cold weather conditions.
