Our people continued our tradition of working together to demonstrate our commitment to preserving and improving the environments where we live and work. More than a dozen volunteers gathered on Arbor Day to plant 1,200 red oak trees at the Mauthe Lake Campground in the Kettle Moraine State Forest Northern Unit near our corporate headquarters in Brownsville, WI.
The red oaks were planted near the shore of Mauthe Lake where conifer trees had been harvested in the past. Michels planted the trees to support the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ reforestation efforts.
Our volunteers got right to work planting the 2-year-old trees. Our people successfully demonstrated our core value of teamwork by coming together and positively impacting the environment.
The planted trees will help clean the air, filter water and provide habitats for biodiversity. Once matured, the trees will also provide food, protection and homes for many surrounding birds and mammals.
In 2022, Michels planted 600 trees in the same area.
