- Location Connecticut
- TimelineAugust 2017 - August 2018
Scope
Michels Power, Inc. rebuilt a 4.5-mile section of a 115kV 1779 line between structures 3003 and 3046. Our scope of work included the installation of 40 steel monopoles on either concrete caissons, vibratory steel caissons or direct embed, a new 795 kcmil 26/7 ACSS "Drake" conductor and hardware, the installation, testing and splicing of new OPGW and hardware, and tie in of the rebuilt circuit at the South Meadow Substation and South Windsor Junction. This portion of the line was one of an older lattice tower 115kV lines in this area of the state and was critical to their infrastructure in the Hartford metro area.
