Scope
Michels used microtunneling to install 227 linear feet of 46-inch diameter pipe for a new water source into the Columbia River. The project was completed in one drive through soil conditions including sands, gravel, cobble, boulders and rock.
The project initiated from an 80-foot-deep, 32-foot-wide secant pile entry shaft and was completed with a wet retrieval of the microtunnel boring machine from the Columbia River.
