Market Square Development

Market Square Development

Scope

Michels designed and installed the earth retention for the Market Square development in Cleveland, Ohio. The project required earth retention to accommodate the 2 levels of parking below grade. One unique aspect of the project is that the sheeting on the project will remain exposed and act as the permanent exterior basement wall.

Michels installed 1,200 linear feel of sheeting around the full exterior of the building utilizing the ABI. A single row of 124 hollowbar tie-backs were installed to temporarily support the sheeting while the permanent interior concrete structure was installed. Despite existing utility challenges, the project was completed on time.
