Scope

This Michels Power, Inc. project consists of building 38 miles of bundled 345kV transmission line as well as rebuilding and reconductoring nine miles of existing bundled 345kV in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. A total of five transmission lines are being installed in the Interstate Reliability Project (IRP) corridor. Michels Power is also built 270 poured concrete foundations for transmission towers and more than 600 direct embed excavations for more than 300 towers. Fifteen drill rigs and customized tools were used to handle large amounts of hard granite bedrock and large boulders in the area.

Michels Power, Inc. installed 27 concrete caisson foundations ranging from 7 to 10 feet in diameter and up to 64 feet in depth and 73 direct embed excavations 5 feet in diameter and up to 36 feet in depth to support Michels' construction of a transmission line.
