Scope
Michels performed the removal and disposal of the existing Coal Tar Enamel (CTE) lining from approximately 18,000 feet (13 segments ranging from 900 feet to 1,600 feet in lengths) of 36-inch diameter pipe. The project also included installing cement mortar lining, removing portions of the existing pipeline and manhole structures, installing new pipe and manhole structures, welding butt straps, installing air release valves, salvaging existing plug valves, and installing Metropolitan-furnished valves. The work was accessed from 14 work pits spaced approximately 1,200 feet apart.
