Scope
Pump station #34 required the installation of 146 drilled shafts to establish the foundation for the station concrete pads and pipe supports. Michels utilized an IMT 190 and IMT 270 drill rig and 70-ton telescoping crane to drill 36 30-inch holes, 110 24-inch holes, and set rebar cages in each hole to a 25-foot embedment length. The rebar cages were tied onsite and set to varying heights. This required the crew to create wood frames to support the cages weight prior to the concrete installation. Michels utilized a concrete pump truck to pour the concrete.
