Michels remediated a 5,400-linear foot dock wall to facilitate environmental dredging of the Menominee River at TYCO Fire Products, a manufacturing facility adjacent to the southern shore of the Menominee River. This project was completed in an environmentally sensitive Great Lakes Basin area, and was monitored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
Michels installed 193 30-inch shafts that were socketed into 3 to 8 feet of bedrock beneath the river. Additionally, Michels installed casing, drilled shafts, rock sockets, tremie-poured shafts and H-piles. A vibratory drill was used to install many parts of the project to tip elevation.
