Michels Road & Stone, Inc. was the prime contractor for the construction of the DePere to Suamico, portion of USH 41 from Orange Lane to Glory Road. The project consisted of constructing 9 miles of 26-foot to 56-foot wide concrete pavement, which included ramps, lanes and mainline. Multiple interchanges were involved. This freeway expansion project was constructed under traffic. The concrete pavement totaled approximately 313,000 square yards at completion of the project. All concrete for the highway construction was mixed on-site at Michels' batch plant. Prior to paving, 550,000 tons of crushed aggregate material was supplied and placed from Michels quarries for building pavement structure.
