Michels Pipeline Construction built 80 miles of 10" Steel Pipe from Tioga, ND, Northwest to the Canadian Border. The 80 miles is a part of a 430 mile line running Ethylene from a gas plant in Tioga, ND to a plastics and chemicals producer in Alberta, Canada and included eight main line valve settings, 55 road bores, and 20 HDDs to avoid environmentally sensitive areas.
Michels mobilized nearly 225 employees and over 150 pieces of Equipment to the North Dakota to complete the job in only four months. The project finished with a weld repair rate under 1% and zero digs after a geometry tool was ran. Crews and staff lived in temporary housing 'man camps' while working on the project.
