Support
With decades of experience and a desire to expand the limits of what can be achieved, Mi-Tech provides essential technical services before, during, and after construction. We have worked on some of the world’s most challenging trenchless projects, gathering information to optimize designs and minimize risks on projects of all sizes.
Permitting Support
A quantifiable measure of a full-service engineering, design, and consulting firm is the capability of gathering and analyzing technical data, risk mitigation strategies, and other information required for successful permit applications. We have decades of experience in addressing the requirements of local, state, and federal permitting agencies to allow projects to stay on schedule.
Contract Documents
Efficiency can be integrated into a project plan well before construction begins. Providing technical specifications to complement our designs allows us to support our customers throughout the planning and bidding process. We offer two delivery methods based on our customers’ preference: draft form for easy integration into your construction documents or a supplemental, stand-alone document.
Lift Plan Development
As pipe installations become more complex and locations become more challenging, we assist our customers by developing lift plans to aid in constructability and to minimize the potential for pipe damage. Taking the proposed pipe specifications, pipe handling equipment, topography, and existing infrastructure into account, we analyze geometry and loading scenarios to determine optimal lift points.
Construction Monitoring
Effective construction monitoring creates real-time and archival documentation of projects. Our on-site engineers understand the construction process, allowing for preparation and distribution of accurate daily progress and spot check reports. Progress reports provide a breakdown of the contractor’s progress as measured by drilled, mined, or reamed footage along with a detailed summary of construction operations. Additionally, spot check reports document specific aspects of trenchless operations, addressing conformance with applicable drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
CIPP Lab Services
As one of just a handful of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) mechanical testing labs in the nation, our experienced engineers and technicians use industry-standard techniques, strictly adhering to American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) testing standards. We can simultaneously condition up to 150 samples at one time and continually evaluate every step of the process from sample receiving, cutting, curing, testing, and reporting to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.
Mi-Tech’s registered professional engineers provide stamped/signed liner thickness designs in accordance with national methods using ASTM F1216, F2019, and ASCE MOP-145. While ASTM F1216 and F2019 are limited to circular pipes having less than 10 percent ovality, the ASCE MOP-145 method will compute for many shapes and greater ovalities.
