Pipeline Integrity

Michels Pacific Energy uses proven techniques to extend a pipeline’s lifespan and keep pace with the changing and developing world. Our services include recoats, cutouts and class changes. Our goals is always to work with customers to implement mitigative and preventive measures rather than taking action after an issue has been detected.

Anomaly Investigation

Using information gathered by sophisticated inline pipeline management tools, Michels Pacific Energy locates and carefully exposes specific sections of pipe where possible defects have been identified. We then work with customers to determine a sound corrective step, and make necessary repairs or replacements. Our crews use sheeting and dewatering equipment when conditions require for safe, efficient work in an open trench. Our comprehensive services include designing, fabricating and installing launchers and receivers to support inline tools.

Hydrostatic Testing

Hydrostatic testing is one of many preventative safety measures used to ensure the integrity and shipping capacity of new and existing pipelines. We use gauges and dyed water to fill a section of pipeline to a desired pressure level and hold it for a predetermined period of time. If any water is released, the location is isolated, repaired, and retested. After the test is complete, the water is collected and disposed in an environmentally sound way.

Line Lowering

When topsoil erodes or construction above a buried pipeline infringes on cover requirements, we use skill and expertise to bring a utility line back into compliance. From excavating and supporting the existing pipeline and tying in a lowered section to fabricating and installing new values and restoring the area to preconstruction conditions, Michels works quickly and efficiently to allow full operations to resume.
