Solutions

Alternative Delivery Models

As projects become more complex and timelines become more compact, alternative delivery models offer opportunities to develop creative, cost-effective, safety-forward solutions. Michels has been using alternative delivery models for decades as an option beyond traditional bid-build models. The combination of our field expertise, procurement teams, in-house and partnered engineering, and design services provide opportunities to collaborate with our customers on the development of safe, effective and constructable solutions.

Our alternative delivery models include:

Design-Build

Engaging a united design-construction team early in the process offers the benefit of a creative, qualified Michels team that will consider all options for planning and building complex projects.

Progressive Design-Build

A highly collaborative process, Michels design-build team works with project owners and their design consultants to gain an understanding of all project goals in the development of cost estimates, timelines and plans.

Early Contractor Involvement (ECI)

This unique alternative delivery contract model allows customers to engage Michels’ extensive construction knowledge during the development of plans. Among many other benefits, ECI results in the development of plans that have been vetted for maximized safety and constructability and, at times, the opportunity to begin construction even as plans are still being developed.

Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC)

By replacing the bidding process with a model that allows Michels to handle all EPC responsibilities, timelines, risks, communication and responsibilities are managed by one convenient point of contact.
