Water Main & Pipeline Systems

Michels Canada has decades of experience building and rehabilitating underground pipelines, tunnels and networks to safely convey Canada’s precious water resources to and from treatment facilities. Our teams perform open-cut and trenchless construction, or a combination of the two, to meet project goals in the safest, most efficient way possible.

Our experience with large, complex projects includes construction of twin lines for additional capacity, and system and segment rehabilitation for reduced infiltration and increased flow.

Our team understands the importance of complete solutions for clean, safe and reliable water systems. We provide value and consistency by designing and self-performing concrete work and construction of shafts, earth retention and dewatering systems.

Sewer Drainage Pipeline & Systems

As populations grow and infrastructure ages, Michels Canada completes projects to deliver essential resources. We use trenchless and open-cut methods with PVC, HDPE, ductile iron and steel pipes to build, expand and repair water mains, pipeline systems and utility maintenance holes.

We have decades of experience building some of Canada’s most complex welded steel pipeline systems. During that time, we have developed the best practices, ancillary services and support teams to make us the construction partner to trust on your most essential projects.

By self-performing related services, including bypass systems, groundwater control, earth retention and shaft construction, we provide our customers with consistent quality and convenient communication and contracting.

Wastewater Conveyance Systems

The time and resources Michels Canada invests allows us to self-perform construction of complex wastewater conveyance systems. We use trenchless and open-cut construction to address some of Canada’s most critical clean water initiatives. Michels Canada has constructed a 22-kilometre tunnel to keep combined sewer overflows out of waterways, a pump station and pipes to transport up to 114 million litres per day of effluent, and a 1.92-kilometre ocean outfall from a wastewater treatment plant.

Concrete Structures

Michels Canada believes the success of large projects hinges on attention to detail. We support our heavy civil, water and wastewater services by self-performing earth retention and foundation design and construction. Our design-build capabilities include secant piles, shafts and other safe, proven methods of excavation and trench support.
