Coastal GasLink
Coastal GasLink is constructing and intends on operating a natural gas pipeline from the area near the community of Groundbirch, BC (about 40km west of Dawson Creek, British Columbia) to the LNG Canada Development Inc. (LNG Canada) liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility near Kitimat, BC.
Coastal GasLink project involves the construction of approximately 670km of 48-inch (NPS 48) (1,219 mm) diameter, grade 550 steel pipe and the construction and operation of:
metering facilities at the receipt point (three receipt meter stations and provisions for additional receipt meter stations at kilometer post (KP) 0) and delivery point (one sales meter station)
one compressor station with provisions for up to seven additional compressor station sites to allow for future expansion up to 5 billion cubic feet/day (bcf/d) (142 million cubic meters per day [mmcm/d])
Michels Canada is the Prime Contractor for Work Pack 3 Central of the Project which will include installation of pipeline and associated assemblies between and from KP 442+911.5 through KP 506+450. The Contractor’s work will include but not necessarily be limited to installing, assembling, testing, and cleanup of the pipeline through this area in addition to other work scopes as agreed to by the parties from time to time.
Michels Canada is based out of Burns Lake, BC and the nearby workforce camp called 7-Mile Camp which is a full-service camp with a 634-person capacity. Michels Canada is also utilizing another camp called Huckleberry camp housing approximately 208 Michels Canada workers at peak (shared with another Prime)
