Day's not done until everyone is safe

A Michels Power crew was finishing up a day’s work on a power line when they heard two familiar loud bangs.

The crew called dispatch for details. Learning that nothing had been reported, General Foreman Dave Hogan, Foreman Darrell Huey and crew members Tyler Young and Dan Christie followed the line to see what happened.

On the main highway in a Minnesota town, they came across an accident scene. A pickup truck had flipped on its side and slid into an electric pole, which fell on top of the truck.

The fire department stood back as the Michels crew used its heavy truck to lift the pole and line off the pickup. After the driver was rescued and the pickup was removed from the scene, the crew worked late into the night to repair the damage to the line.
