Rasband promoted to West Coast General Manager
BROWNSVILLE, Wis. (July 22, 2019) -- Lance Rasband has been promoted to General Manager of Michels’ West Coast foundations construction operations. Since joining Michels in 2018 as Northwest Regional Manager, he has guided Michels’ establishment of a dedicated regional team and permanent base for West Coast foundations operations in Kent, WA.
Michels is supporting its expansion into the West Coast foundations market with specialized equipment and personnel. Services include drilled shafts, secant piles, internal and external braced earth retention systems, jet grouting and dewatering.
Rasband has more than a decade of experience, including specific knowledge of the unique soil and drilling conditions in the Western United States. Prior to joining Michels, he was a Project Manager at Malcolm Drilling, guiding an array of significant projects in the transportation and commercial development markets. He has also been integral in the development of the oscillator/rotary method of drilled shaft installation on various deep foundation projects up to 12 feet in diameter and more than 200 feet in depth.

In addition to his project-based knowledge and skills, Rasband is an active participant in industry organizations, including the International Association of Foundation Drilling (ADSC) and Deep Foundations Institute (DFI).
A Brownsville, WI-based utility and transportation contractor, Michels has four offices in California and three in Washington to support West Coast operations.
