Michels Power, Inc. completed a large-scale fiber-to-the-home project to provide service to rural homes, community and towns within the entire footprint of Rock County, MN. Michels Power procured and constructed 511 miles of mainline buried conduit and fiber. The project consisted of 32 miles of directional drilling, 1,052 services, 1,600 splice vaults and 9 miles of rock excavation at various locations throughout the project.

The project was completed on a tight 120-day schedule, requiring careful and methodical planning. Up to 14 crews worked simultaneously to complete the project on time. The project’s location ranged from farmland to congested towns.
