Jeff Puckett, President of J.D. Hair & Associates (JDH&A), contributed his expertise to the December 2024 issue of Trenchless Technology Magazine.
The article, titled “Effective Design Requires Understanding and Communicating Risks,” states that because each trenchless crossing has its own unique challenges, evaluating and mitigating those risks is essential to the design process. To illustrate his points, Jeff examined the success of a recent pipeline crossing project despite three principal challenges, which were addressed during the project’s planning phase.
Since joining JDH&A in 1994, Jeff has provided project management, engineering and construction quality assurance on hundreds of trenchless pipeline and utility installations. He is a recognized expert in the specialized field of horizonal directional drilling (HDD) design and a licensed Professional Engineer in 24 states and Washington D.C.
