Twenty employees representing a combined total of 550 years of service to the Michels Family of Companies were recognized at a celebration earlier this month.
Among the honorees was Pat Michels, President and CEO of Michels Corporation and son of company founder Dale Michels. Pat began his career at the family-owned business at age 12 and returned as a full-time employee in 1975. Under his leadership, Michels has flourished into one of the largest infrastructure and utility contractors in the world.
Scott Nehls, who is semi-retired, also celebrated 50 years with Michels. Scott started as a laborer, working his way up to operator and foreman before becoming Michels’ second-ever directional driller in 1998. He was promoted to Horizontal Directional Drilling QA/QC Manager in 2008.

The honorees were recognized by senior leaders, who shared accolades and anecdotes about these dedicated team members, at a formal event in Fond du Lac, WI.
