Scope

Michels Power, Inc. preformed work on the HZ Wind project in Iowa- a 28 megawatt project consisting of 14 wind turbines on 70 meter and 80 meter tower sections. Power was delivered to the local utility utilizing existing distribution lines. Michels self-performed the installation of 2.5 miles of access roads, including nine public road intersection improvements, to accommodate the delivery of components from the Port of Houston. The 14 foundations each consisted of approximately 385 cubic yards of concrete and 63,400 pounds of reinforcing steel. A combination of telebelts and pump machines were used to install the concrete. In addition, Michels Power crews completed the interior tower wiring, underground electrical work, electrical borings, and electrical distribution work required to deliver power to the local grid.
