Swan elected MUCA Board of Directors President
Michels is proud to continue our tradition of promoting safety training, continuing education and legislative relations for the underground construction industry by participating in leadership of the Minnesota Utility Contractors Association (MUCA) with the election of Joseph Swan as president of the Board of Directors for 2021.
Joe, a Safety Coordinator, joined the MUCA Board of Directors in 2017, and was elected to a one-year term as Vice President in 2020.
“Growing with this association the past four years has been a wonderful learning experience,” he said. “It is very gratifying to be part of an association that is looking out for our construction industry and to work with other talented, dedicated people.”
Joe joined Michels in 2010 to focus on developing and implementing safety programs and plans for our pipeline construction operations. He works with our Minnesota-based crews out of our Lakeville, MN office, and is the third generation in his family to work for Michels, following in the footsteps of his late grandfather Ralph Roseboom, a superintendent, and his father, Mike Swan, an operator.
MUCA members are involved in sewer, water, gas, telephone, and fiber optics installation, excavation, site work and trenchless technology. The association represents more than 135 members.
