Michels supports program to remove plastic from the ocean

A set of cranes work on barges to move portions of a railroad on a river.

From diving and dredging to performing offshore wind and other water-based construction, our people spend a lot of time on, under and around the water. We are committed to preserving and improving the environments where we work and live.

Our environmental cornerstones are the foundational principles we build into the workday of every Michels employee, including methods and actions to minimize adverse impacts on water resources. For example, we always inspect equipment and vessels for the presence of invasive species and aquatic vegetation upon removal from a waterway. We also avoid or minimize interference with marine life and their habitats.

As we continue to grow in the marine industry, we remain dedicated to environmental stewardship. Michels is partnering with 4ocean, a company determined to clean up the ocean one pound of trash at a time. Our support will remove 1 metric ton of plastic from our oceans—the equivalent of 44,100 plastic bottles.
