Michels Corporation is supporting renewable energy near our corporate headquarters by becoming an anchor tenant at Alliant Energy’s 1-megawatt solar garden on the southwest side of Fond du Lac, 12 miles from Brownsville.

“As an energy and infrastructure contractor, we support initiatives to provide reliable power from a variety of sources,” said Pat Michels, President and CEO. “We look forward to using green energy at our facilities served by Alliant Energy.”

Michels committed to purchasing 30% of the solar blocks at the community solar project located on land leased to Aliant Energy.

Investing in the solar project is another way we are expanding our commitment to renewable energy. Our construction services include utility-scale wind and solar farms and high-voltage energy collection and distribution systems for renewable energy projects. The Alliant Energy Community Solar program allows customers to share the benefits of solar power without having to install solar panels on their property. Customers receive a credit on their monthly electric bills for every block of energy purchased. Businesses also qualify for annual renewable energy credits to help offset carbon emissions.
